I’m republishing a post I did back in March on arch unionist Brian Wilson in response to his latest tirade where he seizes on the GERS accounts that the Scottish administration foolishly persists in publishing (and paying for) that purport to show Scotland runs a deficit.
When asked about the accuracy of Lillian Hellman’s memoirs, the writer Mary McCarthy said that “every word she writes is a lie, including ‘and’ and ‘the,’” a sentiment that equally applies to the ramblings of Mr. Wilson.
Wilson knows full well that Holyrood is a colonial administration and not a real government. Nevertheless, he relishes blaming Scotland’s sorry state on Holyrood, and not on its Westminster colonial overlord.
A government wouldn’t fork over its revenues to another nation that decides how much to return less than half to the natives. Then when the natives can’t manage with their allowance, the coloniser accuses them of mismanagement.
A government wouldn’t let another nation control its economy, making decisions that harm its People and destroy their wellbeing.
A government wouldn’t permit another nation to privatise its land and natural resources, leaving nothing for the People to whom these resources belong.
A government wouldn’t let another nation dictate with which nations it is allowed to trade, destroying its export industries.
A government wouldn’t consent to another nation siting weapons of mass destruction near its largest city and then charging it for the privilege.
A government wouldn’t allow another nation to occupy it militarily, remove its indigenous language, suppress its culture, control its institutions and hide and misrepresent its history.
This has all been done to Scotland by its ‘partner’ in the union. If the People are sick and tired of it, they have the sovereign power to end the illegal annexation of their country and create and be in control of a real government once again.
I have been demanding a breakdown of how Westminster spent the money they had from Scotland's tax revenue, year 2023/24 £84.5b. That figure does not include any oil or gas revenues.
How can they blame Scotland for having a deficit when they take billions of pundsworth of energy from Scotland and pay us nothing?
