Since Keir Starmer became leader, English Labour has done the bidding of the Israel lobby.
Starmer met with the openly Zionist US Secretary of State Blinken and Israeli President Herzog at the Munich Security conference, a merry gathering of warmonger nations and arms manufacturers. Afterwards, he threatened spineless Commons Speaker Hoyle into accepting a Labour amendment to an SNP resolution deleting reference to the “collective punishment” of Palestinians, denying the genocide that is happening in real time and sabotaging the SNP’s stronger resolution.
Israel has made over 500 statements since October 7th showing genocidal intent. Herzog’s include:
October 13th - “There are no innocent civilians in Gaza.”
October 14th - “This rhetoric about civilians not aware, not involved, it’s absolutely not true... we will fight until we break their backbone.”
October 15th - “We will uproot evil so that there will be good for the entire region and the world.”
The Israeli President also signed US-financed bombs before they were dropped on Gazan civilians.
Labour’s entire shadow cabinet attended an October Labour Friends of Israel (LFI) vigil where Rachel Reeves, LFI vice chair for 13 years, called on police to crack down on anti-Zionists in the UK. Nevermind that antizionism isn’t antisemitism. Labour conflates the two because it’s easier to smear Israel’s critics than to engage with them.
37% of Labour MPs and 37 Lords are LFI members. LFI regularly funds ‘fact-finding’ trips to Israel and organised a ‘solidarity visit’ in January to keep Labour onside with Israel’s genocide.
LFI, the UK equivalent of AIPAC in the US, donated £50k to Starmer’s leadership campaign and £200k to the shadow cabinet. It won’t disclose its funders but has admitted it liaises closely with the Israeli Embassy in London.
Scotland’s voice will never be heard while it remains in the failing UK. The SNP shouldn’t waste another day in the Westminster cesspit but hightail it home to help end the colonisation of their nation.
Starmer is a disgrace to the Labour movewment. His support for, and attempts to justify Israeli war crimes is making a mockery of Labour's great history.
I don’t like the subhead Money Talks - I think that speaks to anti Semitic tropes. Anti Semitism does exist - it’s a real thing
