Israel plays the victim card - again
Last Thursday night, before and after a Europa League football match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax in Amsterdam (which Maccabi lost 0-5), Israeli supporters rampaged through the city centre wielding metal pipes and wooden sticks beating people, ripping down Palestinian flags from homes, attacking a taxi driver and chanting “Fuck the Arabs! Let the IDF win! Fuck you terrorists, Sinwar die, everybody die!”
When the people of Amsterdam fought back, Israel cried foul. This is typical Israeli behaviour. It’s always someone else’s fault. Israel is so adept at playing the victim card that it’s still attempting to frame the genocide it has unleashed onto the Palestinians as an act of self-defence when Gazans made a jailbreak from their outdoor prison on October 7, 2023.
The war criminal Netanyahu even deployed two ‘rescue planes’ to bring the marauders back to Israel.
Amsterdam police confirmed that the Maccabi thugs instigated the violence.
But the western lamestream media never lets facts get in the way of its ‘reporting’. It has gone into overdrive, as per usual, backing Israel to the hilt, fatuously claiming that the people of Amsterdam were committing a “pogrom” against Jews.

A pogrom is an act of organised cruel behaviour or killing that is done to a large group of people because of their race or religion. That’s not what happened in Amsterdam. But it is what’s been happening Gaza on an industrial scale. In fact, Israel has been conducting a pogrom against the Palestinian people since at least 1948.

If “Israelis” are indigenous to the Middle East, why do they insist on being included in so many European events and organisations like the Eurovision Song Contest, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the European Broadcasting Union? Why is Israel an associated state of the European Union? Might it be because Israel is filled with Europeans who have murdered and displaced the real indigenous people, the Palestinians, from Palestine? This begs another question - why does Europe not only tolerate but openly support a genocidal state?
While the Israeli football hooligans - many of whom were IDF soldiers - were being jetted back in comfort to Tel Aviv, American bombs were shredding the bodies of Palestinian men, women and children.

As it was a European cup that was being contested, why was an Israeli team even allowed to take part?
Banning South African participation in sporting events helped to end apatite there, maybe a lesson there.
