With the notable exception of Wilson, vis-a-vis Vietnam, Brit PMs buckling under pressure from American administrations and joining their imperialist wars is as predictable as Saturday following Friday. Starmer is merely the latest exemplar of the long entrenched tendency within British governments to grovel on their bellies to the US. Not even a whisper of condemnation from Starmer, of course, regarding the Zionist invasion of the dirt-poor, basket-case that is Lebanon, nor the egregious serial slaughter and displacement of its citizenry. This latest example of staying schtum is, in my opinion, yet another weary display of a long ingrained anti-Arab/Muslim racism on the part of the British state with its undeniable history of colonial conquest and exploitation of Muslim entities throughout Western Asia whilst routinely, as colonialists need to, dehumanising the regions inhabitants on grounds of skin tone and religious belief. This, while white, Christian and deeply corrupt Ukraine has had weaponry and money thrown at it to fight an unwinnable war of its own making through its oft times stated and highly publicised determination to join NATO; all this while its 'leader' is fondly embraced by Starmer and his white, Christian counterparts in Europe. How long before those same fundamentally racist, vehemently Russo-phobic politicians are left with no option other than to buy Russian oil and gas, or watch their country's already faltering economies grind-to-a-halt?
