The meltdown among European ‘leaders’ over America’s intention to bring the Ukraine war to an end is accelerating. Like headless chickens, they’re in a complete panic. Their latest gambit is for French President Macron and Sir Keir to fly to Washington next week to talk President Trump into continuing US support for a war that Ukraine was always going to lose because it was never in a position to win. Good luck with that.
They will argue in vain that in negotiating an end to this disaster, Trump “would be seen as caving to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s demands.”
They just don’t get it. First, Trump is acknowledging reality and they’re ignoring it. Russia has won, Ukraine has lost. Second, Trump was elected on a promise to end a war he never supported and probably wouldn’t have happened had he been re-elected in 2020.
Trump is right that Zelensky has had many opportunities to end a conflict that began in 2014 with a CIA-led coup against a democratically elected president, Victor Yanukovych. The UN Security Council-endorsed Minsk I and II agreements in 2015 that would have left Ukraine intact weren’t honoured but instead used to buy time for Ukraine to build up its military. Then in March 2022 Russia and Ukraine were ready to sign a peace deal where Ukraine accepted neutrality, but that deal was trashed by the US “envoy” Boris Johnson who flew to Kiev to instruct Zelensky not to sign because the West “had his back.”
Despite the lame stream media’s valiant efforts to portray Zelensky as a latter-day Churchill, this is a man who passed a decree that he refuses to rescind making it illegal to talk to Russia.
This is a man whose term expired last May but who won’t hold elections.
This is a man who was reprimanded by the former CIA Director for skimming off too much money for himself and his cronies but who demands ever more.
This is a man who in 2022 invoked martial law and banned 11 opposition parties.

This is a man who has overseen “the disappearance, torture and even murder of an array of human rights activists, communist and leftist organizers, journalists and government officials accused of “pro-Russian” sympathies.”
This is a man who sanctioned the murder of an American journalist, Gonzalo Lira, who dared to criticise his repressive regime.
This is a man who is implacably opposed to any effort to make peace when over a million of his people have been slaughtered and his country lies in ruins.
But most blame for this catastrophe lies with the US and its eager little European NATO poodles. Despite Russia’s repeated attempts to talk to the US, the crazy neocons who have controlled US foreign policy since the 1990s kept pushing the envelope. Not only were they hellbent on NATO enlargement, but they unilaterally abandoned key nuclear arms agreements - the ABM Treaty in 2002 under George W Bush and the INF Treaty in 2019 under Trump - and put Aegis missiles in Poland and Romania aimed at Russia.
Now that Trump has seen the light, the Europeans are beside themselves. They’re even desperately dredging up the widely debunked MI6/CIA invented insinuations that Trump is a Russian asset.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall when Trump meets Sir Keir, who has gone out of his way to anger the US President by calling Zelensky to reassure him that the UK still backs him. And Trump won’t forget that Starmer sent Labour operatives to work on Kamala Harris’ campaign last year.
The US is out of Ukraine and will soon be out of Europe and NATO, which should have folded when the USSR collapsed. Now Trump and his people have told the Europeans that if they want to keep this war going, they are going to have to own it.
If they want to send “peacekeepers”, the US is fine with that but there’s no way Russia will agree.
If they want to scrape together a few more billion euros and pounds, they can go right ahead and sink their economies further into the mire. It won’t make any difference to the outcome.
And if Europeans want to start their own bilateral talks with Russia, there’s nothing stopping them and Russia has said it’s open to the idea.
Somehow I don’t see Kaja Kallas calling Sergey Lavrov to organise her trip to Moscow. That’s because Europe/UK have nothing useful to say or to offer except more war. And the Europeans are congenitally unable to agree amongst themselves.
The US shield that has protected and coddled Europe since 1945 is finally being removed, exposing Europe for the effete and bankrupt entity it is.
By this juncture in history there is little point trying to explain geopolitical history to clods whose 1950s version of the world is rusted on through mental inaction, frozen by social inertia, and welded on by the Zionist media. These decrepit folk reject such evil weapons as evidence, logic, surveys, books, and independent online media. In short, they are beyond the pail of shite reserved for humanies waste products. At a local level, they are the source of most unpleasantness and traditionally, they strip recalcitrant family members from their wills as a last lash out at normal humanity. Just ignore them.
Apparently the idea of Russians invading a country is ok with your view of the world. We had Prime Minister once who did the same with the Nazi’s. Look where that got us. Our American president will be renowned for giving the knee to the KGB.
