This was written by my son Jackson Gunn Barrett and published today on his Substack. It is a perceptive and deeply troubling take on the recent assassination attempt of Donald Trump. Who Shot Donald Trump? Part 1. At a chance tilting of his head, The shot that would have hit it sped Across his ear. Who had a hope For such precision, when he lacked a scope? Who Shot Donald Trump? Part 2. Three perfect shots across the mark (To compensate the bullet’s arc) Were fired at once; one grazes him As his head turns upon a whim. Then out of sight he ducks alive And thwarts the plot. A pause; then five Spray out at random through the stands. Eight shots in all; two different hands. Who Shot Donald Trump? Part 3. A slanted roof is open to The public eye; but while the view Is drawn to Matthew Crooks inclined Upon it with his gun, behind It on the left, the window of A higher building looks above Him, shielded from the people’s sight By the sharp angle at which the roof Below it and its wall unite, From every side detection-proof, Where one, well-trained, could take his aim. From there the opening bullets came.

Very good and certainly there is something seriously not right about it all. That Trump hand fisted in celebration, saying 'fight!', the fact he was due in court on Tuesday, the fact he is now being heralded as a hero, who apparently deserves to occupy the white house just for this if nothing else, is all terrifying.
I don't watch much about Trump right now it's all far too much but I did watch this last night. Some good discussion, and food for thought. Thank you Jackson for your astute thoughts on this very topical and sinister episode in the saga of the US election.
Hope ok to share this here...
