Like many of our people who uncritically accept the prevailing msm line, Fraser appears to have missed the ongoing national liberation of Americans who are taking their country back from oppressive woke neo-imperialism; just as he perhaps misses the ongoing colonial reality of Scots who remains subject to these and other oppressive forces - hence our desire for national liberation too.

As for Rabbie Burns, I suspect he would have been a big supporter of President Trump's liberation of Americans, as well as the liberation of Scots and Scotland.

And, as a former Carnegie Scholar, I would urge people to develop the capacity for critical thinking. Scotland's colonial reality is not really that difficult to understand, but is essential to finding the anely remeed - leeberation.

tRump is forcing 'immigrants' onto planes deporting them in their thousands as we speak, despite the courts ruling it's wholly unconstitutional. I would hope R. Burns would find that abhorrent as any decent person should.

Everything has to be looked at in context Hetty , it is the same for Scotland , there are many establishment figures calling for immigration due to the shortage of indigenous births ,but those establishment figures are the ones who have created that shortage by forcing young people to chose whether they can afford to have children or survive adequately and comfortably

Another reason for the forced emigration of people is the consistent bombing of their home countries by the uk and usa governments under the guise of democracy but the hawks are in the pocket of the arms industry

I have posted several times on different blog sites about the despicable actions of Australian immigrants in October 2023 against the indigenous Aboriginal natives when they ASKED for a permanent seat in the Australian parliament to oversee policies that affect the indigenous natives directly

A referendum was actioned where the immigrants REFUSED that permanent seat , SCOTS take notice

A similar situation is almost a reality in relation to Scotland's independence where our incomers have already determined that we MUST remain shackled to a vile abusive union partner

My son when at primary school, tasked to recite this Burns poem, so called teaching staff told me could I ask him to tone it down, he was reciting it like it was meant! Great I thought, no and well done.

I hadn't ever seen that Burns quote there, bring a tear to a glass eye, so it would. :-)

At the risk of appearing pedantic and picky, may I leap to the defence of the glass-eyed community and have it recorded for posterity and sundry arrant poets that tears of empathy and sympathy are indeed shed from glass eyes. No offence intended Hetty, Burrrrrrrns was the greatest.
