When will we learn that individual 'rights' for a few can result in dire hidden consequences for the rest? Who has gone through life never once expressing a wish to not be here any longer? If this goes through that could become a highly dangerous thing to voice. Most working in palliative and end of life care oppose this bill. We need to listen to them. The human instinct is to live. There is no correlation between the strength of that instinct and the physical circumstances of the individual.

If you're stupid enough to believe that the government is doing this with your best interests in mind, then you really do need euthanising.

D J Although I agree with your interpretation and comment I still feel it is a personal matter for the individual and their families , and Leah I do agree that better palliative care would be more advantageous and give more people better comfort and support, the reality is unfortunately that our scumbag politicians have no interest in supplying or increasing palliative care , these politicians sicken me with their fake sanctimonious platitudes they have no interest in properly funding palliative care UNTIL they need it ,the majority of organisations supplying palliative care are charitable organisations largely funded by donations, the others are privately owned enterprises where the motivation is profit driven and basically parasitical

Thatchers and Bliars (SPIT) answer was to shut down all the mental care facilities and force through care in the community which as we all know is a roaring success , at the present time dignity in dying is only available to the better off who can afford to fly to Switzerland or similar facilities elsewhere where their choices take precedent according to their bank balance
