The moral bankruptcy of Sir Keir Starmer
I wonder what Sir Keir and the rest of his English Labour government think about two recent revelations about Israel.
The first, published in the leading Israeli paper, Haaretz, confirms that the IDF was responsible for at least half the 1200 Israeli deaths on 7 October. The IDF ordered its soldiers to implement the Hannibal Directive - basically murdering their own unarmed civilians to prevent them from being taken hostage - many were shot in the back. Independent journalists have been saying this for months but the corporate mainstream media stenographers have vehemently denied it.
As evidence, Haaretz showed IDF texts and emails ordering its troops to carry out the Directive and a former IDF spokesman on Piers Morgan confirmed it. Yet US State Department spokesperson, Matt Miller, when asked about the report, clings to the lie that Hamas killed the majority of Israelis on October 7th:
“I did see that report that moved over the weekend. I don’t think there’s any question that it is Hamas that is responsible for the overwhelming number of deaths.”
This continual lying from the department responsible for diplomacy shows the Biden administration’s moral vacuity.
The second revelation is The Lancet article estimating the probable number of Palestinians murdered by Israel, directly and indirectly, is 186,000:
“It is not implausible to estimate that up to 186,000 or even more deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza. Using the 2022 Gaza Strip population estimate of 2,375,259, this would translate to 7-9% of the total population in the Gaza Strip.”
These numbers are grotesque and should generate more condemnation than they have. One reason they haven’t is that the world has become desensitised to such extreme levels of violence. The other is the power the Israel lobby exerts over western governments, in particular, the US. In two weeks, Benjamin Netanyahu will address a joint session of Congress. Not a single member of Congress has told him not to come. They’re too terrified of the Zionist donor class to speak up.
What says Sir Keir? Will Labour Friends of Israel allow him to break ranks with the US administration? Unlikely. It’s clear that the UK political class is as morally bankrupt as that of Israel and the US.
Yes horrendous, the destruction and slaughter on such a mass scale and continuing, just beggars belief, or so you'd think. Miller was asked why he wa s'smirking' when asked about numbers of dead in Gaza, he smirks all the time it's incredibly disturbing to watch, then he laughed. Yikes.
I have seen on some youtube channels that I liked and followed, :-/ the English commenters who were so anti Tory some satirical, now praising Starmer to the hilt, and the comments, just sickening. Some are treating the election as a massive saviour to all mankind and talking about Starmer as if he is a saint, not a SIR, not very rich man who is not averse to people including lttle children in Gaza being starved, denied water, and murdered by Israel. It's really scary so many are talking as if he is a saint, just because he has a guy in his cabinet who doesn't like so many folks being locked up in prison etc. I bet those who would normally be locked up in England for perhaps minor crimes, will be put to good use as a ready army though! Just watch when the honeymoon is over, it won't be pretty for the people of England and even less pretty for the people of Scotland. I despair.
It doesn't say in the Haaretz link that at least HALF were killed by Israeli forces. It says it doesn't know how many. Hamas videoed themselves killing civilians, students and foreign workers and the videos are all over the Internet. True estimates of friendly fire incidents are nowhere near HALF the number of people killed, but a few dozen at most. When people make wild claims like this and paint Israel as a cartoon villain, it brings the whole piece into question, and I'm no Zionist. There's no need to lie about what Israel has done to make it look worse; the truth is bad enough.
