I agree with what is said here and have done before the EU made their drastic decision to side with USA , the EU should have pointed out to the USA that it is the EU that dictates who is allowed or invited to join NATO and not the USA the EU should then have said to Ukraine it is not safe for you to join NATO because doing so will make your neighbour Russia feel threatened but oh no , the EU bashed on with their stupid invitation to Ukraine. If the EU had not got involved we know for sure that there is and never was any danger of Russian expansion and that is simply because Russia in this modern world and with knowledge and experience of over expansion know it would only make it even more difficult for them than it already is to administer and control even more land and more people.Russian expansion plans was a lie and still is a lie.The EU were tricked or to be more honest about it they were bullied into doing what they did with Russia and Ukraine by the USA and we all know now that the USA,s only plan was to sever the trade that the EU had with Russia .The USA planned all along to destroy the pipeline taking gas from Russia to the EU simply because they knew the EU would then have to buy gas on the world market and with such a huge need for so many of the EU countries the USA knew that only the USA could meet that demand and so it came to pass that the EU and UK pay a huge cost for USA gas that is shipped thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean. In the meantime the USA are raking in the profits and the EU and UK have cold homes extortionate gas costs and business failure. The sooner the UK and EU get rid of the neoliberal ( Margaret Thatcher type ) warmongering politicians that have flooded their parliaments the safer we will all be.As for Ukraine , the people i feel sorry for but they put their trust in a fool a liar , Zelensky , he knew all along that what he was doing was wrong but was too much of a coward to say so.

Good article.

I wondering how long it will be before the bluffing and blustering First Minion and Westminster lapdog John Swinney withdraws 'Scotland's support' from Ukraine now that the writing is very clearly etched onto the wall?

Another conflict which proves that peoples in self-determination conflict are usually linguistically divided, and that 'independence is a cultural emotion' (Fanon).

Institutions such as the Church of Scotland perhaps now need to ask themselves why some churches have been flying the Ukrainian flag and singing the Ukrainian national anthem at the end of each service over the past few years; meanwhile doing nothing for decolonization o oor ain Scots fowk as the only remedy for inequality, poverty and under-development of our own people and nation.

So glad you raised this, Alf. Each time I see that flag flying from a church tower I shake my head in disgust. Knowing the origins of the conflict - US/CIA/MI6/NATO provoked Russia after many betrayals over several years including NATO enlargement, a 2014 coup, Minsk subterfuges so the west could re-arm Ukraine, unilaterally pulling out of the INF nuclear treaty, etc - and the horrendous toll of death and destruction for absolutely NO REASON, I'm amazed at the ignorance and hypocrisy of so many Scottish institutions that can't be bothered to educate themselves but instead choose to regurgitate the British State/lamestream media propaganda and virtue-signal by flying blue and yellow flags.

Precisely so Leah, and these are the same institutions that are party to the UK 'Union' hoax whit aye keeps Scots fowk haud doun.

Bit-players such as Healy will be confined to the Green-Room for the final act of this wholly predictable farce of arms.

Ironic that two non-countries sign a 100 year pact when neither will exist in five years, let alone a century...
