Why is the West playing with nuclear fire when Project Ukraine is doomed?
Global capitalists stand to lose a lot when Ukraine falls
Senile Joe Biden’s “decision” (let’s not kid ourselves - Joe’s Deep State handlers gave the order) allowing Ukraine to fire medium range missiles into Russian territory is the dying gasp of Project Ukraine.
After the authorisation, Ukraine, with the help of NATO, promptly launched 6 ATACMS missiles on a weapons depot in the Bryansk region, five of which Russia shot down. Even Ukrainian sources admitted the depot housed old Soviet stock, so this won’t impact Russia’s military operations.
Then yesterday, like the dead-eyed deep state cypher he is, Sir Keir Starmer followed his master’s lead, allowing Ukraine to fire UK Storm Shadow missiles into Russia’s Kursk region. In an interview with Sky, Starmer even said he’s willing to risk nuclear war over Ukraine, which should terrify us all.
For the first time, the US is authorising attacks into pre-2014 Russia, which require NATO support in terms of satellite navigation and targeting. The curtain has been pulled back. NATO is at war with Russia.
In response, Russia has put its nuclear rocket forces on their highest ever level of readiness and just updated its nuclear doctrine which sets out clear conditions for use of nuclear weapons. This includes a scenario in which non-nuclear states' aggression (Ukraine) is backed by nuclear powers (US and UK).
Why is the US risking nuclear war when it has admitted this won’t change conditions on the battlefield? Colonel Douglas Macgregor said the US decision was like giving a clinically dead heart patient a haircut and a shave.
Former UK diplomat Alistair Crooke suggests this is a morale booster for Biden and the Ukrainians and is designed to frustrate Donald Trump should he, as he’s promised, try to end the war when he takes office in January.
But Crooke also points to a bigger reason: resources. Europe’s second largest gas reserves are in the Donbas and Kharkiv regions and offshore in Crimea. ExxonMobil, Chevron, Halliburton, Shell and other multinationals signed contracts with Ukraine before the war began to exploit its fracking gas and offshore oil and gas. Ukraine also has one of the largest lithium reserves in Europe and is rich in rare earth elements, titantium, iron and manganese. These western corporations expected to rake in billions from Ukraine’s reconstruction after Russia’s defeat. Russia’s imminent victory has shattered their dreams.
Ukraine’s other great source of wealth is its black soil which grows the wheat and corn exported to Europe, a continent that is not self-sufficient in food production.
Three US corporations - Monsanto, Dupont and Cargill - own 30% of Ukraine’s arable land, which amounts to 17 million hectares. Their largest shareholders are BlackRock, Vanguard and Blackstone. The UK is getting in on the act, using aid to open up Ukraine’s devastated economy to foreign investors in an effort to boost trade. Russia’s impending victory means huge losses for these global titans and their western enablers.
This proxy war was never about Ukraine. It was always about harming Russia. In that, the West has failed spectacularly.
Despite being the most sanctioned country on earth, with more than 16,500 economic sanctions levied on the Russian Federation since February 2022, the IMF confirmed last month that Russia’s economy is the world’s 4th largest in purchasing power parity (PPP) terms, and that its upgrade was driven by Western sanctions. It represents 3.55% of global GDP, exceeded only by China (18.8%), the US (15%) and India (7.9%). So, of the top 4 global economies, 3 are BRICS members.
Meanwhile, the UK is sinking deeper into the muck. UK industrial users are paying by far the highest electricity prices in the world. Privatisation has worked wonders, hasn’t it?
And the long suffering UK consumer is being hammered, too, with another price rise announced for January.
The US empire is going down and its acolytes - the UK and EU - are going down with it.
If Scotland can extricate itself from the failing UK and the grip of the psychopathic neocons who have orchestrated this latest disaster, it may have a chance.
And John Swinney gave his support to the US allowing Ukraine to use long range missiles! Fucking disgraceful! https://xcancel.com/QuinanLloyd/status/1859230257313628208#m
England has taken Scotland into some 80 conflicts since the end of WW2, and a lot more prior to it, and England will continue to do so as long as Scots let them. A colonized people lacking sovereignty remain 'bystanders' in their own land.
